Resorts was the first casino hotel in Atlantic City, becoming the first legal casino outside of Nevada in the United States, when it opened on May 26, 1978. The Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino opened its doors in Atlantic City in 1984, and went on to become one of three major properties owned by Donald Trump within the tourist destination.
